Here's a very interesting film from 1972 about vegetarianism and veganism in the UK. It covers the issues as they were seen by people of our parent's and grandparent's age groups.
It's great to see the lovely people who set up vegfam, a charity which we used to support when we lived in the UK. There's also a short section about the Vegetarian Cycling and Athletic Club, and about St. Christopher's school which was then, and still is, vegetarian. At one point they're walking into the "Cranks" restaurant. I ate there myself in the 1980s !
Possibly the best quote: "I just don't like the idea of marrying a man who's not weaned off milk".
Note: The film is of it's time and there is some misogyny. In particular, the first couple of minutes cover a beauty contest. If that section is too annoying, skip to about 2:30. The rest of the film is much less misogynistic. There aren't that many examples of films like this which cover the history of our movement. I think the film is worth watching despite the inevitable flaws.
