I finally managed to get some seed sowing done yesterday, after weeks out of commision with flu and chest infection.
It feels good to be productive ๐Ÿ’š

I repaired a cold frame and planted some vegetable seeds a few weeks ago, not hopeful that the soil or seeds were in a good enough condition.

But look! Spinach is growing!

Early signs of carrots, spring onions and rainbow chard showing too, will post on this thread when theyโ€™re a bit bigger/ more abundant

We spent Saturday preparing the allotment garden for the new gardening season, spreading wood chips on some of the paths and between the berry bushes to battle the stubborn couch grass. Thereโ€™s still a lot of work to do but this is a nice start ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™Œ

Insex. Also #NotABot says it's time to sort out compost and get tomatoes and peppers organised into the greenhouse. A pair of frames for the climbing beans made, and 32 planted, so a busy day all round. #HomeGrown #VegGarden
Another 1.5kg of climbing beans (Blue Lake variety), with as much again still to come. Not bad, considering I thought they'd never make it back in May. #HomeGrown #GrowYourOwn #VegGarden
Back from a week away and the #tomatoes kicked it up a gear.
The #vegGarden plan for this year wasnโ€™t perfect but happy with the results from my make shift setup.

Yum - if you're in the northern hemisphere with summer headed this way, and you grow things, you should plant yourself some #sorrel. It makes a brilliant creamy sauce, that tastes so fresh and great. Great in soup too I hear.

I haven't seen it in the produce shops, perhaps it doesn't keep well once picked. It's a low maintenance perennial though, so will serve you forever.
