Had an idea for a show with a vampire protagonist: he agrees to take your remaining days, in exchange for completing some task that you wished you could have completed yourself. So every week it's more or less a new problem that has to be solved, like find a missing relative (and presumably reuniting them with surviving family members), or bring someone to justice.

Here's what I've worked out on mechanics.

Who he is: Our protagonist - let's call him Darkraven Bloodstrykewulf, or Ralph for short. Ralph was somebody who lived an aimless life and eventually got killed by a vampire, and became one himself. As a vampire he saw how he'd wasted his life, and is reluctant to take anyone else's. The fairest approach he can think of to survive is to find people who are done with their lives, and offer them something in return.

How he finds people: Not quite sure. I figure Ralph needs to have somebody to talk to, so make it a seer of some kind. Make it a woman named Raventress Shadowhellstorm, or Gladys for short. She can point him to people who might be willing to make the deal, but she can't say much more about them.

How the deal works: Ralph offers to deliver them from pain and fear, in exchange for an agreed-upon boon. Ralph will see their spirits sometimes until he's completed his mission; they may appear to help guide him or to even try to talk to him. Once he's done as he's promised, their spirits move on. Note that once in a while Ralph realizes that performing the task would just plain be wrong, and he may have to confront the spirit.

Ralph's powers: Not sure. Enhanced speed strength and durability; sunlight damages him; maybe let him turn into a wolf for fun. Does not need to be invited into places, or possibly, the nature of his deals is such that he is not barred from places. Most of his situations can't be solved through brute vampire power; he's more likely to have to try to talk people into not letting their days slip away without meaning.
