This month, let’s shine a light on epilepsy and support the millions affected by this condition. Did you know that approximately 1 in 100 people are diagnosed with epilepsy? At SCAB Pharmacy, we are dedicated to raising awareness for children in our community.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗽𝘀𝘆?
Epilepsy is a brain condition characterized by recurrent seizures caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Symptoms can vary widely, from blank staring to jerking movements, and can affect anyone, regardless of age or background.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗼 𝗶𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝘇𝘂𝗿𝗲:

- Ensure their safety by gently guiding them to the ground and turning them onto their side.
- Never restrain them or put anything in their mouth.
- Stay calm and reassure them once they regain consciousness.
- If the seizure lasts more than five minutes, call for medical emergency.
