Charity urges wider MenB vaccination after teenager dies from meningitis

A teenage boy from Oxfordshire, Lewis Waters, has tragically died after contracting meningitis, prompting calls from the charity Meningitis Now for a broader rollout of the Meningitis B (MenB) vaccine. Two other pupils in Reading are also being treated for the disease. Dr Tom Nutt, chief executive of Meningitis Now, emphasised the importance of protecting young lives and criticised arguments against extending vaccination based on cost-effectiveness, highlighting that the MenB vaccine is both safe and effective.
