So langsam bin ich einfach nur noch stocksauer auf #Vodafone!

Und mir ist es shiceegal woran es liegt: Gem. §73 Abs. 1 TKG ist das deren Problem, und wenn die mir ne Faser aufn Balkon legen müssen, ist das #NichtMeinProblem!

Denn #DOCSIS sollte nicht schlimmer aussehen als #VSAT von nem #GSO wie #ViaSat KONNECT auf 9° Ost.

Ich hab leider auch nicht Lust für diese shice noch extra zu zahlen.

Mal schaun ob die von Vodafone notfalls bereit sind die Kosten für Ersatzvornahme [#VDSL 🤢 + #LTE 🤮 durch Dritte] zu tragen.

Weil deren LTE ist auch #verstopft weil #underpeered!

PSA: It’s rather trivial to fool your satellite terminal to believe it can do sub 3 min/km pace in a 400m track interval sessions. Unlike the improved anaerobic capacity of the #Marlink engineer recording the session, the satellite terminal struggles with it’s connection when the #GNSS signal is spoofed. #satcom #VSAT #Starlink #OneWeb

Very good paper and research.

VSAT vendors used to love their walled gardens: pseudo-standard DVB-S2 implementations, broken encryption everywhere, and zero cooperation on security, all to protect their proprietary turf.

The high cost of VSAT-style infrastructure and GEO satellite capacity was another major reason vendors avoided investing in security and interoperability.

Will this change? I have some doubts.

@vwestlife #Funfact: In #Europe, #Cband dishes weren't common so #SatelliteInternet used simiar #Tuner cards with #VSAT terminals, usually accepting downlinks from regular commercial #TV #satellites that were just data channels on #ASTRA and/or #Eutelsat #HotBird in the #KuBand...

Later they got some fancy "SAT-Routers" that combines a #DVB-S downlink and an #analog #56k / #ISDN modem for uplink if not offered to use #2G #mobile networks as well...

I've got one of those:

Basically a #Router with some #Linux on Ethernet, Power & F-Screw-Connector on the rear, #56k& #ISDN #Modem|s and USB up-front.

And yes, I used that to share a #dialup connection with multiple devices, because they can do that!
