#TNG, #DS9, and #VOY had an open submission policy. The first season of TNG was crap because of Gene's involvement but once he was marginalized and Leonard Maizlish was gone, the writers just took fan ideas and scripts and polished them for broadcast.
#Trek gave Trek fans what they wanted and it still had broad appeal.

@gaghyogi49 Huh. Okay, how common are mirrors in that case? Secondly I was quoting “Liaisons”. Besides these scenes I can only think of “Genesis”, a #voy focused on B’Elanna and “Vanishing Point”.
