It hasn't gotten as much coverage, but the Georgia Gov(R) just signed a law that the metro-Atlanta areas are not allowed to show part affiliation on ballots. Specifically, the 5 largest counties (Gwinnett, Fulton, Dekalb, Cobb, Chattem). Fani Willis says she is going to fight against this.

I suspect this happens a lot - confusion & misinfo caused by the fact that some localities allow non-citizen residents to vote on local issues, causing a wrong belief among non-citizens that they can vote in any election.
I do not believe for 1 second that any migrant who's made the extraordinary sacrifices it takes for them to make it to America would put their ability to remain here at risk by knowingly trying something guaranteed to get them extradited.
