I hear folks saying we’re all talking to like-minded followers in a silo on social media, especially the fediverse - which has been deemed more ‘woke’ than other platforms. But hey, a fair number of like-minded sorts elected to pass on the last election, some for a single issue, others out of pure exhaustion. But we no longer have that luxury. We’ve seen what withdrawal from political life got us, and it can never happen again. Not if we’re to preserve our democracy, human rights and continue to tackle the ridiculous inequities in our society. If we want to redistribute income from the top down, to give power back to the people, to save the planet for future generations, we need to vote - all of us like-minded folks. Because elections are not won by converting the opposition, NO! That’s a waste of time. Elections are won by mobilizing, motivating, and turning out OUR OWN voters.
