#VILenin's #AprilTheses were first heard in a speech on #ThisDayInHistory in 1917, a day after returning to Russia. In them, #Lenin rejected the #FirstWorldWar, the #ProvisionalGovernment, and a republic; and calls for the "abolition of the police, the army, and the bureaucracy".

Jag har läst Håkan Blomqvists och Alex Fuentes lilla skrift Imperialism och imperialismer (Atremi 2025) och tänkte kommentera den några dagar framöver. Det är en mycket stark och övertygande genomgång av kolonialismens och den moderna imperialismens historia. Men när det gäller imperialismens idéhistoria och deras berättelse om dagens globala kapitalism har jag ett antal invändningar.

A capitalism in deep crisis has many times been resuscitated by the very #WorkingClass it oppresses. On #ThisDayInHistory in 1870 Russian revolutionary #VILenin was born. His challenge to the capitalism of his day ultimately collapsed. We can do better, and must, just to survive.
