@hamchallenge
Made first #CW 'QSO' - on #vband. Was the predictable train wreck.
Strange that my morse decoded ok on the practice channel but not on the live channel, although the remote contact seemed to understand; maybe they were clairvoyant.
Does everyone on a channel have to use same speed?

I think this was the best purchase from the Hamkarelia2024 hamfest.

HP/Agilent 11970V harmonic mixer for 50-75GHz, with WR-15 flange.
I hope to use it to potentially see things on 47GHz (iffy) and 76GHz (more likely).

100eur. So not free, but a decent price.
There was also a WR-15 noise source, but that was also 100eur and I had no immediate use for one, nor a noise test set.

Saturday project; made a cheap and simple VBand interface with a DigiSpark. It works nice with my straight CW key. #hamradio #VBand #CW100days

#NewYearsResolution:

At least 15 minutes of #MorseCode practice daily, until I am making QSOs and head-copying ragchews.

I'm currently alternating between LCWO.net's words tool, the Lockdown Morse series (which is well over an hour a day at this point) and listening to live QSOs.

I'd be game for some accountability-buddy check-in routine if anybody has a similar resolution they want some peer pressure to stay on top of. If it's also morse, we could even check-in on #VBand or #HF...

@EI3HIB Take a look at #VBand sometime too. I'd be curious to hear how you think it compares.

@kc2ihx when you’re ready to start sending, the Ham Radio Solutions’ #VBand is a great place to start. You don’t need any equipment, but you *can* use your key / paddle w/ an adapter. They also make the standalone #CWHotline, which allows you to communicate privately in #Morse with other CW Hotline users (with a unique key you create) using just the device itself and a wifi connection. #MorseCode
…In addition to actual #Morse QSO’s with others on #VBand, the #radio, or #VailCW [https://vail.woozle.org/ ] (you can have a QSO & get ur fortune told in CW on Vail) - even practicing simulated QSO’s on the #HamMorseApp (or just listening to the various live streaming news feeds available there). #LCWO is just one of many ways to enjoy learning & improving depending on the day, the ability or lack thereof to get on the air, and how much time is available.

#HamRadioSolutions #VBand site has a lot of folks practicing CW #Morse code today. No key needed, but there are adapters available so that you can use your device with the site if you prefer. ~ https://hamradio.solutions/vband/ ~ #MorseCode #KE0FFTcw #KE0FFTvband
