There has been debate about load factor on #TrenMaya. Here are some purely observational one-off non reliable statistics:
- about 30 people boarded the 10:04 train in #Valladolid
- majority is #Mexican (observing documents at passport checks)
- our premier class coach had 95% seats taken), the next coach 75-80%.
- a lot of people got off at #ChichenItza, load dropped to 70% (I counted) on our car.
- Had a quick glimpse into second class AFTER ChichenItza: completely full from what I could see

Departure was right on time in #Valladolid and the next stop will be #ChichenItza, so we are informed by the automatic announcement. Our seats were taken by an American family that didn't seem to be too familiar with assigned seating/train travel. #TrenMaya

#Valladolid station is 10min by taxi from the centre. We did not haggle for 150mxn price, and found out at the station it is actually the standard fare. The #TrenMaya stations are located outside of the cities, which is their major weaknesses. It needs to be tackled with good shuttle services. In #Valladolid there is one, but it's not timed for every train. Also the information is hard to find, basically you ask for the timetable at the bus station and take a picture on the sales agent's screen.
