Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich bei einem Rack-Server-Angebot bei eBay für 1.400 Euro geboten. Außer den Fotos und dem Namen (Supermicro Sys-7049GP-TRT Server) gab es keine Angaben. Aber ich wusste, dass allein das Gehäuse den Preis wert ist. Da ich schon länger ein GPU-geeignetes Rack-Gehäuse für eine private „Haus-KI” und als Gaming-Rack gesucht hatte, war die Entscheidung einfach.

Es stellte sich heraus, dass hinter der Air Shroud für die GPU eine Nvidia Tesla V100S mit 32 GB RAM eingebaut war. Das war von außen nicht erkennbar. Die V100S-Variante ist das stärkste Modell der Reihe:

So I finally had the time and motivation to integrate the 2.4 GHz receiver for my #V100 #freight #train #loco properly into the model.

I had to adapt the design slightly by using corner plates where a 2x6 plate would be used and I only had those in black color, so I will need to get these in dark red sometime later ...
