“Bristol Pride has taken the decision that it cannot accept sponsorship from UWE whilst their current trans and non-binary policy is in place.

“UWE Bristol has been a longstanding partner to the festival and we had hoped to use our relationship to effect change.

“Since the Supreme Court ruling and drafted EHRC guidance, Bristol Pride has been doing what we can to stand up for our community and to push back on harmful legislation."

This is a petition from LGBTQ+ students at UWE for Bristol pride to address and end their active sponsorship from UWE.

Bristol University of the West of England (UWE) are one of only 2 universities in the UK to have fully updated their policies to remove trans inclusion or safety since the supreme court ruling last year and are STILL actively refusing to include trans students and staff members within their EDI policies even after being approached multiple times to address this.

We need Bristol pride to stand up for their trans community by addressing this and ending their sponsorship with UWE.

Please support queer and trans students and staff who feel betrayed by Bristol pride’s UWE sponsorship by reading signing and sharing the petition below.

Whilst UWE are actively putting the trans community at harm, they have no place at Pride.
