Many #Canadians I know have long considered certain #USAnians - such as those in #Minnesota, #Michigan Upper Peninsula, maybe #Wisconsin - to be unofficial "honorary Canadians". They share many things with Canada, from climate and geography to some aspects of culture, making them more like us than many other parts of the #USA.

There are some who are interested in making this arrangement official, with these parts of the USA becoming Canada's 11th province. I'm not sold on the idea at this point, but it's worth talking about.

I mention this because I would just like to let these potential future Canadians know that should this come to pass, their province will be named South Manitoba. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

But they don't mean it. Their demands are absurd: just "the foundation this nation was built on".

If you really want No Kings, then abolish the #ImperialPresidency, and the executive presidency. Remove all powers of decree, nomination, veto, and military command. And evict your president from his mansion.

I've hinted at this (below) before, as we've watched the #USA slide into #fascism. But with #ICE and the #DoJ now routinely ignoring court orders, or engaging in malicious compliance, and offering obviously bad-faith arguments about how their actions didn't actually violate court orders, it's become pretty apparent that the #immigration issue is the one driving this #lawless #government.

Did I say immigration? Sorry, I meant the #racist issue. The administration has been very clear and very explicit about their actual goals - bragging about how they're going to "restore" #America with 100,000,000 #deportations. That's basically the number of non-white people in the #country, most of whom were born in the USA and are lawful, #inalienable #citizens. Then there are the slogans and mottos stolen directly from the #Nazis, talking about #purifying Germany and all the rest. They are not being subtle about this.

Building #concentration camps is a pretty solid clue, too. The death #camps in #WWII started out like this, trying to #deport people. But when you can't move fast enough, well, you gotta do something, right? So #gas chambers and #crematoriums... ICE isn't meeting its #deportation quotas, so they're letting people die of neglect and abuse. It'll get there.

So, the point: if (big IF) #USAnians can recover their #country, it won't really be over until #Stephen #Miller meets his end after a short #drop and sudden stop at the #Hague.

In case you missed it, Trump's longstanding (and strident) claims that over the course of his relationship with Epstein he was never accused of any wrongdoing with women or girls went up in smoke in the last tranche of Epstein files released by the US #DoJ.

The FBI interviewed an Epstein victim who directly accused Trump of sexually abusing her when she was ~14 years old. The #FBI investigated and determined her #allegations were #credible. And much like Stormy Daniels' account, he used force - it wasn't "consenting" (not possible with a minor) even if she had been an adult.

If you #USAnians are getting together with your #MAGA family members for the holiday tomorrow, do please remind them of this fact, and the fact that Trump has been identified by Marjorie Taylor Greene as the one fighting hardest against releasing the Epstein files. Oh, and that when Congress got nonpublic access to the #unredacted version of the files, it turned out Trump wasn't just in them a few thousand times - it's more than a million times. He has a leading role in them, which makes sense, considering Epstein was his best friend [1] for a decade or more.

These facts are not getting the attention that they really should, at least in the US mainstream media.

So the #USAnians sent a "special envoy" to Greenland.

This is a #diplomatic faux pas to start with - #Greenland is an autonomous division of the #Danish kingdom, and so all diplomatic actions should (at least to start) be done by approaching Denmark, through the USA ambassador to Denmark. Bypassing that is Not Done. Extremely rude. Like, "drop your trousers and shit on the floor in front of the queen" #rude.

So that's bad enough.

But the *reason* for the envoy is to try to convince Greenland to #separate from #Denmark, and join the #USA. i.e. it's just another extension of the "We'll take Greenland" #bullshit the #insane #orange mental-defect-in-diapers was pushing a while back. This is, from a diplomatic standpoint, unspeakably rude. Unimaginably so. Simply unfathomable, except for the fact that the USA *elected* that #fascist #asshole to behave this way.

So the normal diplomatic response would be for the Danish PM to summon the USA #ambassador, and ask him for an explanation, and the ambassador would be expected to provide an #apology to some degree.

But given Trump's penchant for appointing his kind of c*cksuckers as ambassadors, and zero respect for any kind of #behavioural standards, the appropriate response here would be for the Danish PM to summon the USA ambassador, and then #stab him in the #face.

I'm afraid that the #USAnians who are out organizing and trying to prevent a slide into #fascism are fighting the wrong war -- the last war, in fact.

That slide is over; the USA is now a fascist, #autocratic state. They need to be working as a #resistance, a #rebellion, an #insurgency, trying to put fascism down and restore a lawful state - not trying to be good citizens, writing letters of complaint or holding up signs of disapproval or expecting organs of the state to do the right thing..

The administration has been illegally #impounding #funds allocated by #Congress since inauguration day. They keep adding to the list. This is a violation of black-letter law, and also a violation of the US Constitution's separation of powers. #Courts have issued multiple orders directing the administration to resume disbursing those funds as allocated, and are essentially ignoring those orders.

The administration is violating - outright abrogating - lawful contracts it has signed to pay for various services. They are refusing to continue abiding by these contracts. They are refusing to make contractually obligated payments without following any of the procedures in these contracts for cancelling those services. Courts have issued multiple orders to rectify this too. The administration has ignored those orders.

The administration is refusing to make payments for services *already rendered*. Illegal.
