Harris County reallocates funds earmarked for embattled guaranteed income program

In light of the guaranteed income program being halted by state and federal courts, county commissioners voted Thursday to use $8 million originally set aside for the program for rental assistance to deter evictions. Another $8 million will be used for homelessness initiatives, and $2.5 million will be used to address food insecurity.
