Inspired by the book Crochet Hacking, I added crochet parts to make this shirt-dress a bit wider and longer + added pockets. It was all very improvised but was fun and quick to make.

In the background you can still see my Ostara / Spring equinox altar which has been changed to May Day / Beltane in the meantime.

I'm not a fan of the loose ends in my hand-stitched book signatures, but since they're there I've embraced them by making them longer & attaching these little tea tag fortunes. Each one is a tiny collage I made from a Yogi tea tag layered with bits of tissue paper, mulberry paper, stained tea bag paper, and my own drawings. The bottom row shows the reverse sides of the ones directly above. Also? Let it never be said I don't have a sense of humor. 😜

I purchased this top sheet at Fabindia in Mumbai 16 years ago, and I've used it almost constantly since then. Recently, the edges started ripping away from the body, so it was time to refurbish the sheet. It took several days to trim away the edges, and today, I ironed it all the way around and sewed down a new edge for the sheet. I'm SO happy to have this sheet back on my bed!
Yesterday was an outlier because I spent all day collecting petition signatures in an art supply shop. I bought a bagful of neglected art supplies, and I practised calligraphy, sharpened my watercolour pencils and used them, and I bought and used a new fountain pen.
