4/5: The Ministry of Time is an interesting blend of science fiction and historical fiction. A collection of people from different eras have been transported through time by the ministry and our protagonist lands the job of being a 'bridge' - a minder for one of the new arivals. This set-up allows for some humorous exploration of how the refugees cope with the 21st century, while our protagonist works out what exactly the ministry is up to. She faces an odd collection of coworkers, sudden disapearances, intrigue, internal moles and assassinations, all while distracted by the handsome Graham Gore...
