After many years I was on a Lanparty today. And it was like back in 1999: Drag your stuff to the location, network debugging, Half-Life, Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, Pizza, Energy Drinks, ...
But one thing was different: Instead of hauling a 30kg tower PC, I brought my Steam Deck, completely with Linux on it. And it worked great. First Windows-less Lanparty, at least for me.

Thanks to a community patch, Unreal Tournament 2004 is free and runs on modern PCs. Seeing fans do what publishers often wont provides a blueprint for keeping the legacy of the arena shooter genre alive. #UnrealTournament
