The world is falling apart and we need alternatives to US-American software, because most of it is from there and because they don't have a democracy anymore, we have to find those alternatives fast to protect our freedom.
In the meantime @signalapp is like: "We have those annoying animated Gifs on Desktop, now!"
Gifs in communication are the most annoying thing! It's not only degenerating real communication, it's degenerating people and their brains.
And even in the Signal app for phones I have to delete all animated garbage, because there is no option to deactivate this bullshit.
It's nice that Signal is open source, but because it's centralized and in the US, we might look for something else. Should we go back to XMPP to get our freedom back?
