PeterIt's past time to get rid of the veto! It's a hangover from the UN's formation that is well past its use-by date. The UN is, or should be, much more than just the "major powers"—China, France, Russia, the UK, and the USA—and those countries, permanent members of the Security Council or not, should not be able to override the wishes of the majority of members countries of the UNSC.
But then, true democracy has always been a fantasy, I guess. Nobody with power wants to let the little countries actually have a say.
