I narrowly avoided being
#assaulted by a handsy homeless man in a Burger King today. I politely said, "Hello," to him when he sat in an armchair across a coffee table from me. I was acknowledging his presence and letting him know I saw him. My greeting was not an invitation for him to stand right back up, move to sit next to me, lean toward me, then try to put his hands on me or hug me while asking me, "Are you okay?" I immediately jerked away and said, "Don't touch me! That's too much!" It's all I could string together thanks to past
#trauma. Thankfully, he did not escalate as I had to step over his legs to get away from him. I am still a bit shaken up, but glad I got away
#unharmed.
