Pico-Driven Ultrasound Enables Scaled Acoustic Model Of Home Stereo

There are plenty of ways to get sound into your house: good old fashioned headphones, the Dolby surround setup we all lusted after back in the day, or the 21st century’s ubiquitous soundbar, …

@screwlisp @AmenZwa @dougmerritt You can test the high frequency response of your microphone by smashing a fork and a tablespoon together. Or two forks. Or two tablespoons. I don't remember. The more annoying, eardrum-piercing the sound is, the better. It basically has a flat spectrum into ultrasonic.

Then view the Sox spectrogram of the recording and you see if it's rolling off somewhere or going all the way to the end.

Not a treatment, but helps to control the symptoms.

"In opting for this treatment, called high-intensity focused ultrasound, Goings has joined a small but growing number of people choosing to control their Parkinson’s symptoms with permanent lesions in their brain."

Ultrasound aimed at the brain offers new hope for Parkinson’s patients

A noninvasive treatment called high-intensity focused ultrasound helped relieve the shaking, stiffness and pain that accompany Parkinson’s disease.

A study finds that high and low frequency ultrasound can affect the aggregation of red blood cells. High and low frequencies promote aggregation and dispersion, respectively. Blood viscocity is changed as a result. Dispersal of erythrocytes promotes oxygen exchange. This may have therapeutic value for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer's disease.

Low-frequency ultrasound can improve blood flow for cardiovascular and neurological disease treatment

For decades, ultrasound has been associated with diagnostics—a routine scan in a hospital room, a monitor displaying organs, tissues, or the first image of a baby. However, researchers are now looking at ultrasound from an entirely different perspective.
