TV: Channel 4 wants Welsh families for hit health show What Not To Eat — here’s how to apply

The TV programme, fronted by Professor Tim Spector and Dr Kandi Ejiofor, launched earlier this year on Channel 4 to 1.7 million viewers — making it the most-watched new series in its time slot since 2021.

Over four new episodes, the duo will again help participants navigate the world of ultra-processed foods and make simple changes to their diet that could transform their health.

Professor Spector said he and Dr Kandi were looking forward to helping more people understand their diets. “Reduce the impact of ultra-processed foods, and find out how to make simple swaps when you shop that will ultimately improve your health,” he said.

The show is looking for households of at least two people who want to feel healthier but don’t know where to start.

Confused about what’s really in the food you buy? Struggling to lose weight despite your best efforts? This could be the show for you.

Applications are open now at channel4.com/4viewers/take-part/what-not-to-eat.

Where The Food Comes From

Ultra-processed foods are factory-made foods with many ingredients not commonly found in home cooking. You can identify them by reading ingredient lists and choosing foods with fewer and more natural ingredients. Opting for minimally processed foods over ultra-processed ones can help you make healthier choices for your diet, as ultra-processed foods may have artificial ingredients that can be harmful to your health.
