This is one of the best death metal EPs I've heard this year- maybe the overall best. SO damn good. Just discovered these guys, they had an LP in 2023 I gotta hear, but judging by this dark, chaotic, cavernous, churning EP, it's gonna be killer.

Lot of amazing Ukranian metal lately, with these guys and Sectarian Defacement.

For #ThursDeath this week, we have the first and only EP (so far) by Kyiv, Ukraine's one man death/doom project PRISM, 'Erosion in the Catacombs'. It starts with a brief intro and then crawls into the two long-ish grueling, pummeling, super heavy death-doomy songs. Around 16 minutes of riffs and dynamics all over the place. THIS is how you do great death-doom.
