I'd rather pay for #UbuntuPro / #UbuntuAdvantage than any #Windows #OEM Key since even the free LTS versions get more Support than Windows LTSB / LTSC Versions...
@EtherealResonance @SpaceLifeForm @harrysintonen even if we go by paid & guaranteed support:
#Windows #LTSB / #LTSC - which was only offered to #Enterprise #VolumeLicense|es, and also only covered 5 years from day of release (last version AFAIK was like 2023).
With #UbuntuLTS & #UbuntuPro subscription, you get 10 years of support from the manufacturer for the price of a shady #Windows10LTSB / #Windows10LTSC key and you don't even need one for the first 5 years unless you want #ESM features and #UbuntuAdvantage for #SystemManagment...
Plus unlike #Microsoft @ubuntu doesn't force you to send them any data of yours just to use a system or make an accoubt with them!

#Ubuntu and its various remixes remain free distros, but it's getting harder to remove the messages about the paid Ubuntu Pro offering… which is by design, and it's not going away.

The banner isn’t a nag screen; you have to open the Software & Updates tool (which is often referred to as the ‘software sources’ utility) and click on the Livepatch tab to see it: Livepatch is Ubuntu’s LTS-only reboot-free kernel update mechanism which is especially handy in situations where rebooting a system (or a fleet of systems) to apply a security update is …unideal. Chances are those looking to enable Livepatch are the
