A UX fail I get annoyed with is a product deciding a text is too long, showing "Read more", only to reveal that the text would have comfortably fit. Today I saw an egregious example in Whatsapp.

Now I know Hanlon's razor tells me that this isn't intentional, but due to the incompetence of the developers.

But is it?

Is it really more likely that the front end developers of a trillion dollar company can't get this right than that someone intentionally "improved" engagement metrics?

I have about two dozen custom GPTs in my personal ChatGPT account and it is uncanny how rarely the one that I want is shown on the left-nav. OpenAI doesn't let you pin them, and it seems like more than half the time I have to go digging into the Explore GPTs list to find the one I want - even if I use it multiple times a week. #UXFail

why lie like this? to calm the user? we know that nobody knows about this issue and nobody's working on it at the time. just say "this problem has been logged" if you really want the user to know that they haven't experienced that failure for nothing. #ux #uxfail
