in #UWMadison news, the unions held a rally today demanding Meet and Confer outside the board of regents meeting #MeetUW

turns out the regents are also voting today on firing 40 (!?) tenured faculty at #UWMilwaukee, so tenure is likely meaningless across state schools here now, worsening the brain drain exodus.

as speakers pointed out, these are the kind of austerity measures that might be expected if the state had a major budget shortfall, but we have billions in surplus...

still, the reactionary jerks want to cut $3M/year in professor salaries to make their legislative bosses happy. and they'd really rather not look us in the face while they do it.
