"The Star-Spangled Banner" is the #nationalAnthem of the #UnitedStates. The lyrics come from the "Defence of Fort M'Henry", a #poem written by American lawyer #FrancisScottKey on September 14, 1814, after he witnessed the bombardment of #FortMcHenry by the #British #RoyalNavy during the #BattleOfBaltimore in the #WarOf1812. Key was inspired by the large #USFlag, with 15 stars and 15 stripes, known as the #StarSpangledBanner.

"You're a Grand Old Flag" is an #AmericanPatrioticMarch. The song, a spirited march written by #GeorgeMCohan, is a tribute to the #USFlag. In addition to obvious references to the flag, it incorporates snippets of other popular songs, including one of his own. Cohan wrote it in 1906 for his #stageMusical George Washington, Jr.

Trump's executive order banning political flag burning -- clearly doesn't go far enough. We need to ban those tattered flags on pickups (with the flag left out unilluminated ALL NIGHT!), and all those diminished representations of the flag, tattered, without proper colors (BLUE STRIPES!). Improper use of flags (BEATING police with flag poles!). Mandatory jail for all! Especially for -- uh -- molesting the flag...
