Things Undead Chemnitz taught us
One of the most influential releases from our label was undoubtedly the “It Came from the Zone – Psycho Compilation.” In the 2010s, there was an incredibly explosive new Psychobilly scene. The third wave. One of the epicenters was East Germany. With bands that remain absolute cult favorites to this day, such as the Tazmanian Devils, Retarded Rats, Undead Syncopators, Holy Hack Jacks, Howling Wolfmen, Grapes of Wrath, and Thee Flanders.
There were two festivals: Psychomania in Potsdam (still alive) and Halloween Nightmare in Chemnitz.
We had our own KlubFoot scene. Even the seasoned British veterans couldn’t help but acknowledge that. With “It Came from the Zone,” we also had our own “Blood on the Cats” or “Psycho Over Europe” compilation. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say we were on equal footing.
The music is still the best the psycho and underground scene has to offer. Long live the underground. Better than the rest!
