Starmer and Labour had a golden opportunity here to back away from this, say something like: “The courts have spoken and we respect that. We will cease prosecutions of activists participating in….blah blah.” You get the idea. A chance to save face and back out of a self-inflicted disaster.
But no, Labour doubles down on oppression. This is who they are. This is why the UK Green Party is surging and winning seats.

People in Nairobi complain about the rent and cost of living, just as people in Newcastle or Frankfurt.
Yet, everybody thinks that this is somehow a local phenomenon: they think: my city isn't working, my country isn't working.
These aren't local issues. It's the same issue manifesting everywhere.

I rarely bother with Party Political Broadcasts, but more by chance than anything I watched the Green broadcast today.
It was extremely well done, and I can't see how anyone could argue with any of the points that were made.
