DWP Payments March 25: Easter Bank Holiday Shifts April Payout Dates | Meyka

Last time around - the time when PIP was reviewed - my GP surgery were unable to provide a copy of my file because it is lost.

Instead, they printed a patient summary. That had brief mentions of most everything I needed so I went with it, lost PIP and failed the appeal

This time, I asked for an up-to-date printed patient summary first. They only printed 6 months, and it is missing a bunch of stuff

'the government’s mission to tackle poverty and its impact on health “appears to be missing in action”. '

The constant scrimping that puts the burden of the fetishisation of balancing the Treasury's books onto the shoulders of the poor, the nearly poor and the going to be poor is a textbook example of being penny wise and pound foolish.

Britain’s ‘medieval’ health inequality is devastating NHS, experts say

Exclusive: Health service estimated to be spending £50bn a year on effects of deprivation and child poverty

"Labour’s collective belief in the dignity of labour regularly curdles into two toxic ways of thinking. One is a belief that paid employment is the only reliable gauge of people’s esteem; the other is a queasiness about disability that sometimes lurks just below the surface. There is also an apparently desperate need to counter any suggestion that Labour ministers are liberal fainthearts. In March, the justice secretary, Shabana Mahmood, offered a curt explanation of why the government was set on its plan: “This is the Labour party. The clue is in the name. We believe in work”."

Look at Labour’s cruel attitude towards disability benefits, then tell me Keir Starmer cares about ‘human dignity’

These proposed cuts will turn people’s lives into a nightmare. No wonder they are scared about where this all might lead, says Guardian columnist John Harris

Yesterday I learnt about my PIP being taken away, this puts me down an extra £400+ from what I was already struggling, It is to the point that I have a few options.

Option #1: Find a way to make that money back and fight for my PIP back by appealing, most likely being picked and prodded by doctors.

Option #2: Make up that 400 and not appeal meaning I will have to keep generating that 400 each month to cover my basic costs of food and stuff.

Option #3: Do nothing about it and suffer.

At this point all I can say is that I'm not sure what to do and I hate the UK Government for doing these changes, this is not a needed thing on top of all my pain.

I am confident that the checks and balances built into the system of applying reviews and sanctions against job-seekers will be as rigorous, as humane and as reflective of individual circumstances as those for applying reviews and sanctions on disabled people claiming benefits.

"We will crack down hard on anyone who tries to game the system, to tackle fraud so we can take cash straight from the banks of fraudsters. There will be a zero-tolerance approach to these criminals.” says the man who promises "Not to call people shirkers or go down the road of division."

So, a fellow sicko has let me know about the Employment and Support Allowance, which is not means tested and you can apply for even if you have savings if you've been employed in the last 3 years: https://consultations.nidirect.gov.uk/dfc/esa-claim-form-march24/

I'm not eligible for Universal Credit, or even free prescriptions, so I thought all I could get was PIP. Sharing in case anyone else didn't know about this (obvs UK only). #disability #benefits #UKbenefits
