#UGhent has sent the police

When we, the #students, raise our voice, when we come to your doorstep to demand action, when the university can't ignore us anymore, the #Ugent seds the #police to #repress their students!

Today we saw 50 riot cops, 10 police vans, 5 dogs, over 20 #wounded and 2 hospitalized students!

How many times we heard we were a 'safety risk'? Today, UGent has shamelessly risked our safety!

Come and support us!

Come to Ekkergem Police Station, right now.

Bring food, drinks and cuddles and your loud voice!

We did escalate the #occupation. We are now occupying the #rectorate of #UGhent!

End all ties now!

Today, the #UGhent announced that they will start the process to exit 5 more problematic ties.

On one hand, this is a huge #victory as this is a direct result of our #occupation

But the fight for an #academic #boycott isn't over yet! There are quite some nuances to be made.

First of all: the media frames this as if the UGhent is cutting _all_ ties with #Israel. This is is not true! There are 18 ties in total, of which 5 are deemed ""problematic"" by the UGent' human rights commision. It is those 5 ties that are now cut, and sooner then planned due to the occupation and our pressure.

However, all ties with Israel are problematic! We won't stop fighting until a full academic boycot is enacted.

We are #occupying UFO - #UGhent enters new #ties, we enter new buildings!

Yesterday, a group of our encampment started occupying the UFO building again - which we name the "Refaat Alareer building".

UGent's board of directors is coming together there today (friday) to approve a new tie with a #zionist company.

While the rector Petra De Sutter threatens to evict us (!), UGent is actively deciding to me more #complicit in #genocide

We are not backing down. If UGent wants to escalate, so will we. Come support us this afternoon at 13:30 at the rectorate (next to the UFO).

Join the fight for a full academic boycott!

#Ughent wants to start a new tie with the #Israeli company #BetterSeeds.

We'll organise a protest tomorrow (#Friday) at 13:30 near the #rectorate

Hihi! As you may know there has been an #encampment going on at Campus Coupure to pressure the #UGhent to implement a full #academic #boycott. In light of this, we as Ghent Student Encampment are organizing a #protest on Thursday the 30th of April. The plan is to have a collective lunch from 12h onwards at the encampment and a march at 13h30 from Campus Coupure to the Rectorate, where there will be a protest with speeches and chanting! The goal is to get as many people there as possible to put pressure on the University

At 12:30, there is collective lunch; at 13:30 we walk from coupure to the rectorate where we'll arrive and protest/chant/make noise
