Local well known bookkeeping company announced on linkedin that they were mandating their employees to use AI.
Now I talked with a backend developer this weekend who told me his company’s leadership was inspired by that to also mandate it. “I haven’t written any code in months”. And that companies in the vicinity have hiring freezes. #ugh

I keep thinking of that time in ‘12 my boss said that my e-mail html was ugly and ‘you can just use Photoshop slices and export generated html!’ … (nope)

Went to the mailbox just a minute ago to get today's mail (and Saturday's, which we forgot to grab). Pull out the mail and hundreds of tiny ants and ant eggs come tumbling out. Ants everywhere, inside envelopes, inside magazines, inside a small package.

This is not the first time it's happened but this is the first time I've seen it happen this early. Going to have to put control bait at the back of the mailbox.

*thud* WFH today and instead of doing the project I had planned (data entry of calibration records), I ended up restructuring the Document Control folder system, adding an employee, and writing two documents on How To Do my job, to the tune of 2500 words, 22 pages and 7 pages long.

My brain hurts. I am so ready for weekend, I swear.

Met a man today who tried to convince me there was no distinction betweens Russians and Ukrainians because he lived in Russia and "couldn't tell the difference". Buddy, your dearth of observational skills and unwillingness to learn Ukrainian and listen to Ukrainians is the problem, not the absence of a distinction between the two. It's like some people are proud of their ignorance?
