CLondoner92 (New Account)The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) has authorised #Northumberland Park Station in North #Tyneside, the fifth of six stations on the Northumberland Line, which will open on Sunday 22 February. Bedlington, the final station, is expected to open in March 2026. The project restores passenger services between Newcastle Central and Ashington, enhancing connectivity across Northumberland. Northumberland Park offers step-free access via a new lift and links to the nearby Tyne & Wear Metro and car park. ORR’s authorisation covers the station’s platform, shelter, ticket machines, information systems, help points and CCTV, confirming compliance with safety, accessibility, environmental and reliability standards.
