A decade ago, when I had my political coming-of-age moment, I was told that I could either value the markets or advance social liberty, conservative or liberal, right-wing or left. Looking back, that seems to me like a false dichotomy intended to squelch out unpopular views befitting a third party. I mean, what's wrong with wanting both?

It dismays me to see posts by those who continue to lament their nominee's loss after 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨—not hoping—others to support them (I blame that and stupid political #tribalism on our #twoPartySystem). Well, let me assure you this: that nothing the winner does now could possibly make me regret how I voted (neither, BTW). Besides, what the loser would have done is purely speculative. I hated both their bids, and that remains true. When their careers go goodbye, I go, "Good riddance."
