So as a farmer I have always supported other farmers. I work markets where vendors from neighboring states attend and have always welcomed them without complaints. I've recently experienced some negativity after applying to a market over the state line from me. Fact is we farm land on both sides of the line. This folks is why small farms and farmers are going away. This year I will be developing a CSA as well as working towards an on farm store!

Some of our replacement layers! These girls will be integrated shortly into our pastured layer operation! We chose a different breed each year for replacement layers so we can easily keep up with the ages. Last year we bought all Easter/Oliver eggers. This year we went with barred rocks!

Exciting news coming from Twisted Cedar Farm! We are hoping to have acquired more land to further expand our cattle/beef operation! If everything goes as planned we will be processing almost double the amount of beef we did last year!

It's that time of year again! We will be receiving our broiler chicks in March! We have processing dates in May for our first batch so all of our customers that love our pasture raised chicken hang in there we will have some back in stock in May! We will be running chickens on pasture from March until December to meet the demands of our customers!

Farming isn't always easy! It seems we are always fighting the weather or constantly weighing our profit and loss. Trying to figure out how we will produce more the next year to meet the needs of our customers. Weeks like this is why I do it. I had 4 new babies born on the farm. Seeing them happy healthy and thriving naturally make all the struggles worth it! If you know a farmer thank them! That small gesture will make there day or week!

Washing and packaging eggs! Four more dozen going out to customers in the morning. One of my customers asked if we raised dinosaur's because of the size of the eggs lol. My response was not quite but we do raise all of our animals on pasture supplemented with non-gmo/soy free feed! I always take the time to educate my customers on the benefits of raising our animals the way we do.

This is one of our mobile hen houses. We move these twice a day everyday rain,snow,or shine. Moving these everyday not only provides fresh grass for our hens it also helps to recondition the soil! This is one of our pastures we are currently trying to regenerate it has been overgrazed for years. I am amazed what you are able to accomplish with regenerative farming!

Our newest addition on the farm! We have brought in an additional breeding pair to increase our pork production on the farm! We will now have 1 gilt 2 sows and 2 boars!
