Maintenant que je m'en suis un peu remis, il faut absolument que je vous dise que samedi j'ai joué à Twilight Imperium pendant 12 heures d'affilée, et c'était fantastique. Tout est trop grand dans ce jeu, très éprouvant, et en même temps extrêmement captivant et addictif. Les mécaniques permettent vraiment de gérer sa diplomatie, contrairement à beaucoup d'autres jeux auxquels j'ai pu jouer.

C'est un super jeu de diplomatie, de politique et de guerre stellaire. Il était depuis 2019 sur mon radar des jeux que j'espérais pouvoir tester, et je suis heureux de l'expérience que je viens de vivre. Vivement la prochaine partie !!

This table is very large and yet the game is still taking up more than the available space.

Going to need a week long bootcamp to learn this monster.

The family Christmas season has went swimmingly. We've actually finished 2 complete games of #twilightimperium, after staring forlornly at it sitting on the shelf for a year and a half.

As I understand it, TI is sort of the "War and Peace" or "Moby Dick" of board games -- it's epically large, with a reputation for being even bigger and harder to play than it actually is. It took us around 10 hours for the first game, with 4 people who'd never played it before, and maybe 6 or 7 hours for the second game.

We're obviously going to need to play it again soon, because I've now had victory snatched away from me at the very last second twice in a row, first by my daughter (who does that sort of thing to me practically every game we play, so it wasn't really surprising), and second by my wife, who was "innocently" playing along until she suddenly scored all of the victory points in the world and went from "not really competing to win" to massively ahead in a few seconds.

Yesterday, the L1Z1X Mindset (blue), the Arborec (green), the Embers of Muaat (red, me), and the Vuil'Raith Cabal (orange) had a last galactic battle of 2025. The latter scored their 10th victory point in the beginning of round 5 after about 7h of fun. Happy to meet you next year at the great council on Mecatol Rex 🚀
