I'm not going to fanfest, but I also just don't understand why they'd do this. I am very obviously not the target audience.
The Capsuleer Edda Registration of Interest – EVE Fanfest 2026
Guests at EVE Fanfest 2026 are invited to participate in the Blood Tome, a voluntary archival project, by making a symbolic contribution to The Capsuleer Edda. Participation involves the collection of a small, finger-prick blood sample onsite at Fanfest. All samples will be anonymized, pooled, sterilized, and symbolically incorporated into durable ink used on select manuscript pages. Participation hours are from 11:00 to 16:00 during Fanfest. This form registers your interest in participating. Final eligibility screening, procedural explanations, and formal informed consent will take place onsite prior to sample collection.

In #EVEOnline, there is a special memorial where you can anchor a can in memory of a fallen loved one, and today I attended my first Signal Cartel memorial fleet. I don't remember the last time I played a video game and bawled my eyes out for almost an hour straight, but here we are.
