Renaissance -- Running Hard

A blind pick from my playlists.

This BBC recording is from 1977; one wouldn't guess looking at this YouTube that punk was the full blast sensation of British popular music culture at this time.

The progressive rock of Renaissance, like that of Emerson Lake and Palmer, often incorporated classical material.. The piano introduction is based on the French organ composer Jehan Alain's "Litanies". Unusually for a British popular music vocalist, Annie Haslam sings without a trace of an American accent.

One of the great things about the internet in general and YouTube in particular is the resurfacing of works and genres that were beginning to sink into obscurity.
