C.So, two years ago I bought a new vehicle to replace a 15-year-old one that had been written off after a collision. It's my first brand-new #vehicle I've ever owned. And being from the 2020s, it has a lot more #tech in it than any previous vehicle I've owned.
A week or so ago, the rear hatch (which is powered) stopped closing. It gets to about a foot open, then stops and #beeps and backs up a bit, behaving as if it's obstructed. I don't see any sensors it would use for detecting objects (but maybe they exist, just hidden), so I assume it's sensing motor current or something.
I booked an #appointment at the #dealer to have it checked and fixed. It was a 3-week wait. The #service manager said in the meantime to try a " #reset " of the car - just drop by and let them disconnect the battery for half an hour. I told them I could do that myself, and did.
So they really did just tell me "Did you try turning it off and turning it on again?"
It didn't fix the #problem. But it did give me a new one! Now two of the four side windows no longer support the automatic-all-the-way-up-or-down feature you normally get by pressing the window control buttons to the second stop. And it's not even both on one side, or both front or both rear...
