Pretty impressed with my municipality right now.

Woke up Christmas morning to a beautiful new water feature on the neighbour's sidewalk, thanks to a burst water main. Also very low water pressure. So I reported it, then started filling bottles (we have about 50 liters worth of bottles for this purpose). An hour later, a work crew arrived to turn off the water and excavate the pipe. An hour after that, the plumbers got here, and they've been working since. Half an hour ago, my ward councilor arrived to make one of her "we are proactive, remember this next election" videos, but we overheard her chatting to the workers before she started, checking if they were okay, could she bring them refreshments... yeah, the system is working, the people involved are awesome, I am very impressed.
