Post-trimming-class results: two pots moved to the greenware shelf for drying and firing, one pot unceremoniously re-smooshed into my clay bag, one pot trimmed too thin at the base and some supplementary clay added and returned to work shelf for potential future trimming. I still have four pots from Wednesday’s session that weren’t quite dry enough to trim.
The unceremoniously re-smooshed pot was the first pot I threw and it was absolutely a monstrosity. I had very low expectations of its survival and was mostly using it as tool handling practice. (Obligatory: Handmade? It looks like you made it with your feet!)
The two survivors both had a bit of “chattering” (apparently this is when your tool kind of vibrates and creates ridges, often when your clay is too wet or dry to trim). I didn’t mean for it to happen, but I think it’s kinda cool!
