The jury has ruled that Trump will pay approx $18M (USD) in compensatory damages to Ms. Carroll, and another (approx) $65M in punitive damages, for a grand total of $83.3M. There were only two women on the jury (per #MSNBC).
During the trial, the Judge repeatedly shut down attempts by Trump's attorney, Ms. Habba, to retry the rape accusation, as well as Trump's attempts to turn his answers into further argument and posturing. At one point, Trump stormed petulantly out of the courtroom, when Ms. Carroll's attorney was making his closing statement.
Trump would have been able to have his own expert to counter Ms. Carroll's financial expert (who had detailed why Ms. Carroll deserved such a large amount in compensation). However, his inept attorney had not filed the paperwork to do so on time.
