This news story reminded me of "military souvenirs".

My father, a WW I U.S. Army veteran, had a box of military souvenirs.. Which we kids sometimes looked at and handled.

One was a small finned rocket shaped object. Maybe a mortar shell.

When my father donated it to the Truman Museum, they discovered that--not to their surprise--the littlie object was a LIVE ROUND. After many decades. The museum disarmed it and put it on display.
