Today in #TroyNY History: on March 30, 1986, Troy police were called to Leonard Hospital at 74 New Turnpike Road following reports of a suicidal individual carrying a sawed off shotgun.
Assistant Police Chief Joseph West—a decorated U.S Marine Corps veteran who served in Korea and a member of the Troy Police Department since 1957–was among those first to arrive at the hospital.
