🌀 Tropical Storm Alvin the first named Tropical Cyclone of this year in the North East Pacific basin has completely lost Tropical Storm status and looking at the satellite imagery the low level cyclonic circulation is naked without the cental dense overcast. It may have some hybrid (Subtropical Cyclone) characteristics but I haven't checked that yet.

🌀 Tropical Depression 04W in the Philippine sea has reached Tropical Storm intensity on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale (due to them using 1 min average winds) but yet to reach Tropical Storm intensity on the Japan Meteorological Agency's scale.

It may intensify becoming a Tropical Storm on that basins official scale before making landfall in Taiwan or mainland China, it doesn't look like it'll reach Severe Tropical Storm status let alone Typhoon intensity though still worth watching.

Next name in that basin is Mun.

🌀 Tropical Depression 94E in the North East Pacific looks like it will become the next name cyclone in that region with a few models even showing the posibility of it becoming a weak Category 1 Hurricane. The next name in that basin is Barbara if it reachs Tropical Storm intensity East of 140W and Akoni if west of that (to the International Date Line).

There is also 🌀 Tropical Depression 94B in the Bay of Bengal looking at the various models it doesn't look like it'll reach Cyclonic Storm intensity (IMD Scale) though if it does it'll get the name Hikaa.

The CMC's Ensemble model for 🌀 95W in the West Pac.

🌀 Tropical Storm Alvin is fairly close to Hurricane Intensity with 55kt winds in the core (63kts is hurricane force) and looking at visible + shortwave IR imagery composits it looks like a subtle eye feature is trying to show. Most models say Alvin has already peaked.

🌀 Tropical Depression 94W is situated over Japan, it has 40 kt winds which would give it a Tropical Storm status on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, but Tropical Cyclones in most other Tropical Cyclone Basins tend to use 10 min average over the 1 min which that 40kts were on scales.

I think the threat of this one becoming a Typhoon has long gone but it can still definitely cause problems with rainfall and some gusts.

The first name Tropical Cyclone of the North East Pacific Basin Hurricane Season has been name 🌀 Tropical Storm Alvin.

Most models are having it peak around mid to high Tropical Storm, with a few forecasting a weak Category 1 Hurricane.

🌀 Tropical Depression 94W in the West Pacific is really close to Japan but no longer looks like it'll reach typhoon intensity as earlier models sugested, however it is likely to bring some rain and possibly gusts up to 50kts (a Tropical Depression is still capable of gusts that can stiln cause damage, but the winds will likely be sustained no higher than 30kts).

🌀 Tropical Depression 95W also in the West Pacific is a bit further from land at 5.7N 143.5E while it doesn't look like it'll develop in the immediate future (next 96Hrs) it may end up developing in the longer term.
