For the second week in a row, a tropical disturbance has the potential of developing over the northern Gulf, according to the National Weather Service.

Tropical disturbance has 10% chance of forming in Gulf

Last week, a similar system moved into the Gulf and, at its peak, had a 40% chance of developing into a tropical depression. That storm ultimately failed to organize.

A tropical disturbance in the Gulf has the potential to bring heavy rainfall to the Houston area and other parts of Southeast Texas late Thursday through early Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
