Maybe u remember the film "The Man Who Could Be King" -1975-
In 1880 two discharged NCOs from the British Army arrive in a village and the natives tell them that a town upriver pisses in the water they receive
The two NCOs train the locals military and conquer pissing people
Once there, they question to discover that a city up the river was pissing in the waters that received the pissing people
And so on to infinity.
Well, the same but with
#TritiatedWater.
What has been published is inconclusive because in the case of #Tritium it is very difficult to estimate the amount to which each person has been exposed. #TritiatedWater leaks from pools
used in nuclear plants and filters into aquifers and from there it is incorporated into any biological organism, so it is impossible to draw conclusions.
I insist again that #TritiatedWater is one of the discharges from fission plants.
Taking Iodine tablets ten years after a nuclear accident is something that can only put you in trouble. #Tritium is formed by #neutron activation and has a half-life of 12 years with a maximum energy of almost 19 keV and a mean of 6 keV
-beta emitters have continous energy spectrum -
The case of #TritiatedWater is different because it has all the chemical properties of water. It is one of the main discharges from fission plants and studies on its effects on health are inconclusive.
#Iodine has 37 known isotopes, and all but one are radioactive. Most of them have disintegration periods of less than 60 days and #Iodine131 is the most present in media because it is a fission product and is one of the radiological pollutants in cases of nuclear accidents due to its biological importance
#ThyroidGland needs 80 micrograms daily to produce hormones but in the case of treated water from #Fukushima
there should be hardly any radioactive #Iodine versus #Strontium or #TritiatedWater
#TepCo ALPS which water used to cool #Fukushima nuclear cores has been treated with would be a fiasco. Not only it has NOT removed #TritiatedWater, but there're concentrations of other elements with biological relevance
-these elements have #Radioactive #Isotopes-
Mainly #Carbon and #Strontium whose concentration would be 20,000 times higher than that considered safe.
#Strontium competes with #Calcium to be incorporated into #Bones and #Teeth from there it can affect #BoneMarrow and cause #Cancer
For decades #TritiatedWater has not been considered a #HealthRisk.
I am of the opposite opinion: that there is no research on the matter and that the little published presents conflicts with the nuclear lobby bent on presenting nuclear energy as cheap, clean and safe when in reality it is the opposite

The problem with separating tritiated water is one of cost and greed. There are several methods, it is very expensive but it can be done.
Exclusive: IAEA chief Grossi hints at discord among Fukushima report experts

The head of the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog said on Friday that one or two of the team of international experts behind its report greenlighting Japan's release of treated radioactive water from the crippled Fukushima plant may have had concerns.

Water from pools where partially wasted nuclear fuel rods are placed is not renewed but cooled through a circuit since it is usually #TritiatedWater with traces of other radionuclides
In #Zaporizhzhia, main problem would be a loss of water of pool.
As heat continues to be produced, fuel rods would lose their structure, start to melt and turn water into steam.
One problem is accumulation of #Hydrogen due to breakdown of water molecules if radiation is intense.I'll tell some other things in next days
