16/05/2026 - A proper Aberdeenshire weather day. It was snowing on top of the hill in the morning. In the afternoon we sat and had our lunch in the gardens with our summer hats on!

07/05/2026 - Day off work. We had a long walk over the two hills within Aberdeen city boundary, Tyrebagger Hill & Brimmond Hill. 14 miles taken slow. We were out about 9 hours. We don't rush for nothing. Even managed to visit 3 cafes, which I think is good going for a single walk. Sunshine for the most part and the rain held off. Not many humans about too which is always a good thing. Nice wild flowers and plenty of birds. It's nice walking round here.
One dear friend points out the patch of sunlight (refracted through champagne in a plastic glass on top of a trig point) she wants in the picture I'm about to take during a birthday remembrance moment for another much loved friend.
It was a beautiful day.

22/03/2026 - Evening walk up Cairn William in Aberdeenshire. A nice way to end the weekend. Bit chilly but a few stars so that was nice. Quiet on the hill. The night is still easy to say hello to at the moment, next week with the clocks going forward it gets a bit tricky. Night was 20:40, next Sunday 22:01.
Desire path up to the trig point at Parrentholm. Prestwich, Bury.
Sewingshields trig point from this morning... trying not to look cold!! π€£ It was just fingers (mainly thumbs) that were the problem, and this could be related to a combo of strong/cold winds and Pacer-Poles? Fabulous route though, from Housesteads to Sewingshields, looping up around Haughton Common, and joining the Pennine Way back to the Wall. Beyond Housesteads, we only met farmers and sheepdogs all day! π
24/12/2025 - Black Hill trigpoint.
Evening walk on Christmas Eve. Quiet on Bennachie tonight. A dark walk round to Black Hill trigpoint and then back over the tops. We sat and had our tea halfway round. Below freezing but little wind. The stars were so good. We took our time and didn't rush, we never do.
